1. What are your service times?

Service times on Sundays are 8:00, 9:30 and 11:00 am.

2. What do I do with my kids?

Good question. We get that alot. On Sunday mornings you can enter the main entrance and bring your children through the Kid's Corner hallway (to the right) and enter the children's ministry wing. You will see a front desk with people happy to help you enter your child in the approrpiate age / room/class.

3. Why do you take offerings in the services?

We believe the Bible teaches about giving the first fruits of our labor, income and/or harvest. In other words, God blesses us when we honor Him by giving back a portion (10%) of what we earn. God asks us to give not because He needs our money. But he asks us to give so that we remain thankful, faithful and humble with what we make and what we have. The New Testament teaches that we should give 100% to God. But in that, there is plenty of evidence that shows Christians and followers of Christ gave a portion (tithe or tenth) of their income to bless those that ministered to them, as well as giving other gifts (offerings) over and above the tithe. Also, if you give, God will reward you.

We don't beleive it is right to pressure people to give. That is between you and God. We just want to encourage you not to miss out on ALL the blessings God has for you!

4. Why don't we baptize babies?

We dedicate babies. Samuel was dedicated to the Lord as a child. Jesus and John the Baptist were dedicated to God as infants. There is no place in the Scriptures that indicates babies are to be baptized. What we see in Scripture is that adults were baptized; infants were dedicated. Baptism was a sign in the East of someone making a new course, a new faith, a new decision to publicly follow a teacher or creed. Dedication in Scripture was done by the parents, who wished a blessing on the child. Baptism was never meant to save anyone. Rather, it was a sign to show the world that the person is already saved and following Christ.

We do encourage baptism, but again we are not into pressuring people. We just want to help you on your journey of following Christ and His Word.

5. How can I get more involved?

We encourage everyone who is new to our church to attend the LAUNCH Spiritual Life Series. LAUNCH is 3 classes offered (usually on Sunday afternoons) several times a year. This course helps people understand our church, the Christian Life, and generally provides training and information on how to get more involved at Rochester Assembly. Check out the LAUNCH PAGE for more information!

We encourage you to get involved in a small group. We have many small groups as well as sunday morning groups that meet weekly for encouragement and fellowship. Contact Pastor Aaron for more information at 288-0868
